The Power of Prophecy
Dave Harris | June 25, 2016
What is about to happen to the people of the world and even to planet earth has been foretold by God, and the Church of God has been given a prophetic role to fulfill.
Imperfection and Improvement
Eric Rank | June 25, 2016
The life of a Christian inherently involves handling imperfection. Whether the origin is our own behavior or the circumstances that surround us, we must develop the skills to handle imperfection gracefully. It is part of the job description of all Christians to continually improve as a way of life, so that perfection can ultimately be obtained.
Which Cross?
Norbert Link | June 18, 2016
It is well known that the Tau-Cross (commonly pictured as the type of cross on which Christ was crucified) has been used as an object of worship long before Christ was born. But does the Bible even support the idea that Christ was nailed to such a two beamed cross? If not, what does God’s Word reveal?
Gold, Cloth & Eye Salve
Kalon Mitchell | June 18, 2016
In a world that is filled with an attitude of what is best for self, it is easy for Christians to get entangled in this type of thinking and lose sight on God’s providence and strength in their lives. In the church we understand that the age we are living in now is called in scripture the Laodicean era. God gives very serious warnings to this end time church. What can we do to ensure that we are not in this category?
Fervent Love
Joe Bourque | June 15, 2016
In difficult and discouraging times, remember the goodness of God and His love for us and rekindle the fervent love we have for Him.
Pentecost 2016–God’s Feast of the Firstfruits
Norbert Link | June 13, 2016
Why do we celebrate Pentecost this year on June 12? What is the meaning of “Pentecost”? Why is it also called “Feast of Weeks” and “Feast of Firstfruits”? In light of Leviticus 23, when did the priest wave the sheaf of the firstfruits, and when did he wave the two loaves of leavened bread, which were also called firstfruits? What was the symbolic meaning of the sheaf and the two breads? Is Jesus the first who was resurrected from death to eternal life? Are there only few people today who are being called into the truth? Are they called firstfruits? Do they have to be predestined by God to be called in this day and age? In light of God’s Spirit of power, is there a guarantee that called Christians will inherit salvation?
One of a Kind
Michael Link | June 13, 2016
What makes us one of a kind and what sets us apart from the rest of the world? How do we produce fruits of righteousness? Just as a tree needs special ingredients to produce good fruit, how does this compare with us and our spiritual lives?
I Am Stubborn!
Dave Harris | June 12, 2016
Stubborn refusal to heed can truly be a matter of life or death! Stubbornness is a dangerous component of pride and self-righteousness; it is a springboard to rebellion; and, ultimately, it will result in an unwillingness to be led by God!
Authentic or Counterfeit?
Robb Harris | June 12, 2016
We are increasingly faced with actions and ideas masquerading as Christianity. We are warned to be ever watchful and to guard the precious truth that has been given to us through the Holy Spirit. Our eternal salvation depends on it!
Is the Earth a Flat Disc?
Norbert Link | June 4, 2016
Is the earth really a globe, or spherical, as science tells us, or is it perhaps a flat disc, which rests on pillars, as some teach who claim that they base their conclusions on the Bible? How are we to understand Scriptures which tell us that the sun stood still or that it runs its race? Doesn’t this show that the sun revolves or orbits around the earth, rather than the earth revolving around the sun? And doesn’t the Bible say that the earth does not move or rotate? But how can there by day and night at the same time, when from sunrise to sunset, the sun shines during the entire time on the “flat earth”? What happens to the waters of the oceans, if the earth is a disc?
Desire to Win
Kalon Mitchell | June 4, 2016
How do we accomplish our day to day tasks? Do we do so with joy and happiness, or do we become resentful and angry? The desire to win is put within all of us. It’s what drives us forward. As Christians, we have to take this opportunity and use the potential that God has given to us. Whatever pain and struggle that we have, it will be worth it in the end.
Hesitation and Haste
Eric Rank | May 30, 2016
The timing of our actions is an important factor that affects our successful, Christian development. If we wait too long to commit ourselves to do what is right in the eyes of God, we may miss out on opportunities to learn, grow in righteousness, and put our talents to practice. But on the other hand, if we lose our patience and take action too soon, we may not be demonstrating our faith in God, and place too much trust in our human judgment. Finding the right balance between hesitation and haste is important for us to practice so we can spiritually develop our character to its fullest potential.
Ask
Dave Harris | May 30, 2016
As Christians, we are taught to ASK. Asking God about things in our lives is paramount for how we live.
And what we ask for now will dramatically affect our future!
You’re Different
Dave Harris | May 22, 2016
Do you accept everything that is happening? Or do you reject following society—especially when it comes to flagrant rebellion against God and His immutable laws? If you do, you’re different—and all the more so if you are a Christian!
A Growing Relationship With God
Robb Harris | May 22, 2016
God expects us to grow and mature. We cannot stay a babe in our understanding and expect to accomplish those things designed for adults.
Testing Faith
Michael Link | May 14, 2016
How is our faith being tested? There are many examples of individuals in the Bible who have had their faith tested many times, but how did they respond? What about second chances? What does the Bible have to say about that?
A Successful Marriage
Norbert Link | May 14, 2016
In what way is the physical marriage a copy or pattern of our spiritual marriage with Christ? What does this mean for our prophetic understanding? Can we say that our marriage covenant with Christ is successful if we are lacking in prophetic knowledge and engaging in unwarranted and unbiblical speculations? After all, the Holy Spirit of Christ is a Spirit of prophecy.
True Repentance
Norbert Link | May 7, 2016
What is the difference between true repentance—godly sorrow in a godly manner—and the sorrow of the world? What are the seven aspects of true repentance, and what is its end result?
Forgive and Forget
Kalon Mitchell | April 30, 2016
The ability to forgive and forget is a key principal that is laid out in the Bible. Christ taught a lot about how we should forgive others. There are three aspects I want to cover: God’s forgiveness, our forgiveness for others and the ability to forgive yourself and move forward.
