In a few weeks’ time, the Feast of Trumpets will occur, then the Day of Atonement, after that the Feast of Tabernacles and the Last Great Day. These days foretell the coming of Jesus Christ to rule, and the setting up of the Kingdom of God. In fact, in the Bible, we are to desire God’s Kingdom to come to the earth. This is the first petition after asking that God’s name be hallowed in the sample prayer outline given by Jesus Christ in Matthew 6:9-10: “In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.” In the same chapter, in verse 33, we read, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
In today’s world, especially in the USA, chronic disease is increasing and placing a great financial burden on the people. In the USA, the government spends approximately 1.8 trillion dollars on Medicare and health, and yet medical debt is a leading factor in the majority of personal bankruptcies. The spending on defense and veterans’ affairs amounts to 1.1 trillion dollars, with the current president, Donald Trump, wanting to increase the amount set aside for defense by an extra 700 billion dollars. It is claimed by retired Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, that the White House is considering the use of nuclear weapons in the current war with Iran.
These two expenditures in reality are non-productive; they do not create any wealth, but are very profitable for the drug companies and weapons manufacturers. When we think of lives lost, infrastructure destroyed, ships sunk, both navy and civilian ships, because of war, this amounts to destruction on a mammoth scale.
There are also many ecological problems, like droughts, wildfires, floods, shortages of fertilizer, fuel and food, often caused by wars. Think of the water shortages on the West Coast of the USA. The Colorado River is no longer flowing as abundantly as it once did. This is reducing the water needed for irrigating the farmlands of California that feed much of the US. It reduces the water supply for seven states and Mexico. It also reduces the power generated by dams on this river.
Then we look at the prophecy in Matthew 24:22, “And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.” Without God’s intervention, this world basically has no hope. But the prophecies in the Bible give us great hope that there will be a wonderful future ahead after some terrible times prophesied in Scripture.
Looking at the prophesied Kingdom of God, the cost for defense will be eliminated due to wars being ended and no war academies will exist to teach and train soldiers to fight in war; health care costs will be dramatically reduced due to both lifestyles being radically improved and due to God’s supernatural healing of the sick and providing inexpensive medicine, as we will read later. There will no longer be a need for vast and growing hospital facilities.
Think of a world with a perfect government governed by the Prince of Peace, Isaiah 9:6, “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” This will be a government for the benefit of everybody, with no need for political campaigns, or voting. Imagine if people obeyed God’s laws; all the problems would be eliminated. The whole ecological situation will be dramatically altered also, as is revealed in many prophecies, of which, due to space constraints, only a few will be mentioned here.
Isaiah 41:17-18 reads, “The poor and needy seek water, but there is none, Their tongues fail for thirst. I, the LORD, will hear them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. I will open rivers in desolate heights, And fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, And the dry land springs of water.”
Isaiah 51:3 states, “For the LORD will comfort Zion, He will comfort all her waste places; He will make her wilderness like Eden, And her deserts like the garden of the LORD; Joy and gladness will be found in it, Thanksgiving and the voice of melody.” Jerusalem and much of the land of Israel are dry today, needing irrigation to be productive, but God promises to change this dramatically.
The city of Jerusalem will also be remodeled. Isaiah 33:21 explains, “But there,” that is the city of Jerusalem, verse 20, “the majestic LORD will be for us A place of broad rivers and streams, In which no galley with oars will sail, Nor majestic ships pass by.” Jerusalem is very different from most ancient cities in that it was not built on a river as most other cities were. God will change this, but in these rivers, there will be no military vessels that are referred to as galleys with oars or majestic ships.
Jeremiah 31:12-14 shows the prosperity and happiness of the people in this rejuvenated land. “Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, Streaming to the goodness of the LORD – For wheat and new wine and oil, For the young of the flock and the herd; Their souls shall be like a well-watered garden, And they shall sorrow no more at all. Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, And the young men and the old, together; For I will turn their mourning to joy, Will comfort them, And make them rejoice rather than sorrow. I will satiate the soul of the priests with abundance, And My people shall be satisfied with My goodness, says the LORD.”
Obeying God’s laws of health, as will be the usual practice in this future, will result in good health. Jeremiah 30:17, “‘For I will restore health to you And heal you of your wounds,’ says the LORD, ‘Because they called you an outcast saying: ‘This is Zion; No one seeks her.’” The people of Zion are mentioned in Isaiah 33:24, “And the inhabitant will not say, ‘I am sick’; The people who dwell in it will be forgiven their iniquity.” Of course, this promise is not just limited to the inhabitants of Zion.
And yet, if medicine is ever needed, God will provide it. Ezekiel 47:12 states, “Along the bank of the river, on this side and that, will grow all kinds of trees used for food; their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month, because their water flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for medicine.” These passages show that God will provide everything necessary for the benefit of men.
And in that time, God will provide a new language so everybody will understand each other without needing a translator. Zephaniah 3:9, “For then I will restore to the peoples a pure language, That they all may call on the name of the LORD, To serve Him with one accord.” This is a restoration after God divided the languages at the Tower of Babel.
There is one final Scripture we can look at. Psalm 16:11 reads, “You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” All those who become a part of the Family of God as Spirit Beings will experience this. And notice, it says fullness of joy. There can be no more joy than fullness.
The immediate future ahead of us does not appear very positive and even prophecies remark on how bad it will be, but after that, there will be great joy and pleasantness both for physical humans and Spirit Beings.
