Is There (No) Peace After All?

The meeting in Washington between Trump, Zelensky, and European leaders was far more promising than the previous meeting between Trump and Putin in Alaska. But Russia would now have to play along, which it clearly isn’t. It categorically rejects the security guarantees for Ukraine, proposed by Trump and the Europeans, or combines them with demands that are absolutely laughable. Trump is now seemingly losing his patience with Putin. Where will all this lead?
