The Prophets Hang on Love, Part 2

The last six of the Ten Commandments tell us how we are to love our neighbor. In this sermon, we will see how the Prophets describe godly love towards our fellow man, emphasizing the need to honor our parents, to avoid and shun hate and murder, as well as adultery and fornication, stealing, lying and covetousness. Many reject God’s law and as a consequence, they love the evil, while hating the good, and when they are told what they are doing, they do not want to listen. But God knows and sees their ways, and He will not be silent forever. God chastises whom He loves.

The Old Testament Commandments, Statutes, and Judgments

Jesus said that all the Law and the Prophets hang on the two great commandments of loving God and neighbor. The first four of the Ten Commandments hang on the injunction to love God, and the last six of the Ten Commandments hang on the injunction to love our neighbor. In addition, certain Old Testament statutes and judgments hang on each of the Ten Commandments, in that they tell us specifically and in detail as to how we are to keep them.

Is Christ the End of the Law?

Many will tell you that Christ came to abolish the law of the Ten Commandments. They say that this is what Paul meant when he spoke about Jesus being the end of the law. But is this correct? This program gives you true answers from your Bible and rejects carnal arguments which are hostile to God.

The Ten Commandments and the Model Prayer

Is there any relationship between the Ten Commandments and the Model Prayer in Matthew 6? Some parallels are obvious, such as, “Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain” and “Hallowed be thy name,” but in other cases, the connection may be less clear at first sight. However, this sermon shows how the different phrases in the “Lord’s Prayer” complement each and every one of the Ten Commandments.

Americans Voted for Nothing!

Mr. Obama was reelected president, but he has no reason for celebration. The country is as divided as ever. The billion-dollar election did not decide one single thing, writes The Washington Times. America voted for Obama as the lesser of two evils, writes the German press. Der Spiegel speaks about the dirtiest campaign in the history of the US. It claims that Germans and Europeans don’t understand America any longer, and that the irreversible downfall of the American empire has begun. The Bible confirms this, but the spiritual reasons are being overlooked.

Does God Approve of US Drone Attacks?

Are US drone attacks moral, Christian and legal, or do they violate biblical standards and constitute potential war crimes? The New York Times reported on May 29 that a priest blesses President Obama’s decisions to launch such deadly drone attacks. While the drone war remains popular in the US, it is being condemned in most other countries, as the British paper, The Guardian, reports on May 29. It is estimated that hundreds, if not thousands of civilians and children were killed in the process, but the facts and circumstances of such atrocities are rarely mentioned in the Western press. The drone war has been described by concerned Americans as “dangerously seductive,” and it is feared that its damage will show up in the long run. But it may not be that long.

True Love or Lawlessness

Matt. 24:12 speaks about the lawlessness of the end times. This lawlessness leads to a lack of love. Love is a Godly attribute that can only come through obeying God’s laws and commandments which are put in place for our own good and well being.
