Lessons From Leaven
The Holy Days reveal God’s framework for mankind’s salvation. They outline—that is, map out key elements in God’s Master PLAN. The Feast of Unleavened Bread teaches us about removing sin from our lives, but there is much more for us to learn during this observance!
The Prophets Hang on Love, Part 2
The last six of the Ten Commandments tell us how we are to love our neighbor. In this sermon, we will see how the Prophets describe godly love towards our fellow man, emphasizing the need to honor our parents, to avoid and shun hate and murder, as well as adultery and fornication, stealing, lying and covetousness. Many reject God’s law and as a consequence, they love the evil, while hating the good, and when they are told what they are doing, they do not want to listen. But God knows and sees their ways, and He will not be silent forever. God chastises whom He loves.
No More Justice in the Land?
Have we reached the prophesied time when we are searching for justice, without finding any? Why this terrible increase of criminal prosecutions of noncriminal acts and innocent people, and why the great erosion of the principle that one must have criminal intent in order to commit a crime? Do Scriptures in Isaiah, Jeremiah and Micah, especially challenging the religious and political leadership of ancient Israel and Judah, have any relevance for us today?

This sermon looks at seven basic areas where we can fall into the trap of neglect or apathy, not because of ignorance, but because we have been taught consistently in the Church over the years, these vital principles. True Christianity is not pick and mix. It is not about choosing the bits we like and agree with and ignoring the bits that don’t suit us. Christianity is a package, and we have to embrace the whole package. It should always be a case of being true to our calling in all areas, at all times, not just when it suits us!
Lying – An Everyday Activity
We are surrounded today by lies and liars – emanating from every nook and cranny of society. We must be careful that we don’t get caught up in this practice that is roundly condemned by God. Lying is a grievous sin. For liars, it brings the second death. Jesus always told the truth. And that is the way that we should be.
The 9th Commandment
Is it ok to lie at any time for any reason, whether considered “innocent” or serious? Are we strong enough to stand up for the truth in any given situation where many would take the “easy way” out by lying about it? What does the Bible have to say about lying and how serious is it?
To Tame The Tongue
What should we do when we are in a situation with somebody, where what we say, how we say it and how we act can either determine a positive or negative outcome? Since we need to focus on a positive outcome, there are several principles that can be applied to do just that, so we can be a shining example to those we converse with.
Two Ways of Living
We are celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles 2006. We are experiencing a foretaste of how the world will be like in a few years from now–a world of peace and truth and love. If we make it into God’s kingdom, we will be teaching God’s Way of Life to the world. We will be educating misguided people about how to live. Do we practice today what we are to preach to others tomorrow?
