A religious power
Revelation 13 introduces us to two beasts. In part 1 of this series, “The Number of the Beast”, it was shown that the first beast is a political and military power tied to the final tenth European revival of the ancient Roman Empire. In part 2, you will learn through Scripture that the second beast is a religious power, pretending to speak on behalf of Christ, while being influenced by Satan (verse 11). It will also cause the creation of a speaking image to the first beast (verse 14).
What is the mark of the beast?
The famous “mark of the beast” is noted, for example, in Revelation 13:16–17. This Scripture explains that the second beast (the religious power) will cause people to accept a mark of the first beast (the political and military power) on their right hand or on their foreheads. Without this mark, they cannot buy or sell. People will be forced to accept the mark of the beast under penalty of death.
Is the mark a microchip or another electronic device which will be implanted under the skin of people? Is it a tattoo or something altogether different? And who or what is the religious power? In what way will it force people to accept the mark of the political power? How will the speaking image cause those who won’t worship it to be killed (verse 15)? This sermon will show you exactly what the mark of the beast is, as well as address who and what the religious and political powers are.
How to obtain godly protection
God commands us to refuse worshipping the beast and his image, and to reject the mark of the beast (Revelation 14:9-10). Instead, God enjoins us to accept the true sign of His people. In this sermon, you will learn what that sign is. God offers us understanding about these vitally important matters, and He expects us to watch relevant events, as they lead to the fulfillment of these end-time prophecies, and to pray always, in order to be counted worthy to escape the horrible things in store for this world.
